Hey, I'm Jihad (JD)!Well hello there! My name is Jihad Alim Holmes-Johnson from Maryland. I'm a portrait photographer, photo editor, digital art photographer, and graphic producer whose passion is capturing a sense of the most meaningful moments in life. Artist StatementI pursue model photography to show how color theory can transform fashion into a compelling visual narrative. By pairing each model’s favorite attire with carefully chosen, vibrant backgrounds, I highlight how color goes beyond aesthetics to express emotion and identity. This approach is rooted in the belief that visual storytelling, especially when guided by color theory, enables viewers to connect with the deeper messages and experiences behind fashion.
Inspired by photographer Erica Banner, I realized the importance of purposeful storytelling in each image. My goal is to capture authentic emotions, celebrating both the unique beauty of individual style and the shared human connection fostered by color. Through this work, I combine artistry and technology to document the diversity of modern fashion culture, illuminating how stories told through hues can enrich our understanding of ourselves and the world around us. |
